HOW TO : Decorate a Puja Thali – Part 3

Have you seen Design Part 1 and Part 2 ?

Hello friends...on public demand we are back with a more decorative puja thali…though made by a friend, we can tell you the steps of this one…so here we go….
This time we will make the thali with things that we generally use in the puja….these things you will get easily if there is any particular puja going on at your place.

We will now check out the things that we need in making of this puja thali…

  1. Steel thali

  2. Rice Grains

  3. Kumkum Powder

  4. Betel Leaves

  5. Mogra flower’s buds

  6. Whole Supari

  7. Kamal Kakdi (Black Lotus Seeds)

  8. Kapoor

  9. Diya

  10. Nadachadi

  11. Fevicol

Now let’s see the method of making this puja thali:

Step 1:
Take some raw rice grains and add some kumkum powder to it, make sure all the grains turn red.

Step 2:
Take a steel thali and stick nadachadi in inner and/or outer border as shown in earlier design. Later spread all these grains evenly in the thali. This will be the base of our puja thali.

Step 3:
Now we will make the main part of our puja thali, you will need 5 betel leaves in all, take one leaf and stick Mogra buds on border of the leaf with help of fevicol. This needs to be repeated in the remaining 4 leaves.

Step 4:
Now take the thali with rice base and place these 5 leaves in shape of a flower. Now place one one Sopari on each leaf.

Step5:
Now there will be some place left between the leaves. We will place the kamalkakdis there. The kapoor tablets will form border of the whole decoration as shown. In center we will place the diya that we have.

Now your Puja thali is ready which will look something like this

Tips:

  1. You can also put some other puja samagri on the leaves along with Supari. This will make it look more decorative.

  2. You can stick some decorative stuff like glass mirrors on inside or outside border of the thali.
