In spite of being bounded by many controversies, Aamir returned with Satyamev Jayate’s Episode 6 and in this episode he discussed about rights of physically challenged group of our society.

Aamir Khan discussed about the issues met by differently abled persons with supported evidences. Aamir’s show brought to light the differently abled persons, who really face problems due to the present structure of our nation, which doesn’t support and help them.

Satyamev Jayate emphasized the actual facts and issues and exposed the real image. The show began with a film that showed Shreya Chaturvedi, an 11-year-old who resides with her mother in New Delhi and unable to walk.

Shreya Chaturvedi said her mom loves her a lot. She too loves her mom and shares everything with her mom like a friend. She loves her teachers, her school and her house. Shreya’s aspiration is to become a doctor or teacher. She never feels bad about her ill-health, but she hopes she would walk one day. She also said she leads a happy life and thanked God for everything she was blessed with.

The primary emphasis of this episode was on equal rights to education and the importance for the disabled countrymen.

Sai Prasad, a guest from Hyderabad said he does not have any problem about his disability. He said his life is made difficult by India’s infrastructural disability. Sai went abroad for his higher studies after working in Infosys. So, he could easily compare India with other countries. He said India fails in giving better facilities to the differently abled persons while other countries have excellent facilities.

Krishnakant Mane, another guest, is visually impaired and has tied knot with a good-looking woman 4 weeks back and the marriage was a love marriage. He works as a project leader and handles 20 people. Krishnakant said he enjoys his life as that of a normal person.

When teachers were asked about the admission of physically challenged children to a normal school, they said if a physically challenged child is admitted, the parents of other children give objection. The fact is the Right to Education Act permits every child, regardless of their disabilities, right to go to any school.

Mane said the message as not to feel inferior and weak and not to take world for granted. The world will be cruel and kind to all and it should be like that. He gave a message to every parent – let your child go to a regular school and let him feel equal.

Many such people and heroes were questioned in this show. Some people said being differently abled is due to the outcome of the bad deeds in their previous lives. They were not added till 2001 in census. But, physically challenged persons are full of determination and hope.

Equal rights, equal opportunity and equal treatment to study and work should be given to them. This will bring progressive changes in their lives.

Satyamev Jayate Episode 3 : Dowry

After female foeticide and child sexual abuse, it’s dowry. The third episode of Satyamev Jayate, hosted by the Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, dealt with fighting and speaking up against this social
injustice that women all over India tolerate on a regular basis.

The episode shown focused that not only in rural india, dowry is prevalent in urban India as well. The show featured three females who had undergone torture due to non-payment of dowry to their greedy in-laws. The episode started with Komal from Delhi, who was bombarded with demands and pumped for money throughout her marriage, had been abandoned by her husband and was half dead in a foreign country before help finally came.

Then it also showed a woman from Jalandhar named Paramjeet kaur's husband took 15 lakhs from her on pretext of studies and went to Australia and now he didnt returned and is demanding more money and divorce too and that too online.

The show even included an inspirational story, that of Mumbai’s Rani Tripathi. Belonging to a middle class family, Rani, against all odds fought for what was right and took control of her own life. Instead of giving in to the ever increasing demands from the groom’s side she, along with her family, staged a full blown sting operation and exposed her potential groom to the media.itted suicide giving in to the pressures by her husband and in-laws.

The final message was: the laws are in place, now it is up to the men and women of the country to find their voice, speak up, do the right thing and say no to dowry.
